Do You Use This Trick? Google Webmaster Tools
My first website was years overdue when I first discovered Erik Stafford, the Faster Webmaster. I used to be really intimidated by the mere idea of creating a website. Actually, that’s an understatement. For the longest time, the idea that I could create one myself never even occurred to me. Instead, I kept wondering when I would ever find the money to have someone else create one for me.
If you look at the top left of the page for analysis of a particular site you will see a table of “top search queries”. Unlike the stats in your Awstats program in cPanel, these queries show the key phrases and their ranking or position according to the Google robot.
While all of these skill sets can help make a great webmaster, rarely does one single webmaster have the ability to do all of them. Instead, a webmaster can focus on a few different areas, such as providing content and marketing said content, while outsourcing the other aspects to freelancers or independent contractors, or even forming a team of like-minded individuals who would like to work on the website.
The course proper consists of a series of modules with friendly and VERY clear step-by-step instructions on how to get a domain name, get a web hosting company, make the two talk to each other, and then set up that first website. Now I know there are a few other courses out there, some of which I may review in the near future. It’s a growth market, obviously. So what makes Erik’s course so special? The combination of written-down and printable instructions AND screen shots AND videos. He has it all. And I needed it all too. I learn best when I have written-down detailed instructions to refer back to before, during, and especially after watching the instructions on video, and certainly while doing anything on my website. It’s all there. And for one of the best prices going.
Scan through this list and see what phrases are ranking on page 2 of Google, in other words are top 20, and then check out the number of searches for that keyword. Make sure that there is a decent number of searches for that phrase but once you are satisfied that there is, write a post/page based around that key phrase and write some articles targeting that post.
There are also numerous websites dedicated to helping newbies run their own website, this includes Google’s webmaster tools. Important thing to remember is you don’t have to know everything to become a webmaster, but one thing is guaranteed is you will learn and continue to learn new things everyday in your journey as a Webmaster/Marketer/ Internet Entrepreneur.

I would instead spend more time researching the search volumes for all the keywords from your site. See what would be easy to rank for and focus on building your your link count with those key-phrases inside of them.
Do you think Google would see this as spammy practice? I would be careful about how quickly you build up links and instead very up what you are working and distribute the links to different pages throughout your site.
